Cohort | Creativity Incubator

Why not take on a creative project in a group of your peers? Work with a group of creatives to make both group and individual work on a specific topic. Each Creativity Incubator meets once a week for three weeks. Each session is 90 minutes long.  Creatives are expected to work both in and out of class on their projects.

Guerrilla Augmented Reality

3 sessions, 90 mins each

Advancements in technology are changing how we communicate and interact with each other. Earlier this year a group of internet artists invaded the MoMa and set up an augmented reality (AR) show without permission. These artists used AR to replace cellular images of Jackson Pollock paintings with their own content. Their goal was to make a statement against elitism and exclusivity within the art world. Now that AR technology has become more accessible viewers have been given the opportunity to participate in traditionally one-sided visual conversations. In this cohort, we will discuss and create design pieces using Guerrilla Augmented Reality techniques for activism and community organizing.

Equipment Required: A smart device (i.e. smartphone, iPad, etc.) and a computer. There is no specific software required for this cohort.
